Hi-Fi

The term hi-fi (high fidelity) was once only used to describe specialist components designed and manufactured to reproduce recorded music faithfully. How it has been devalued; hi-fi has become an all embracing word used to describe anything that tries to play music – from iPod docking stations to mini-systems to MP3 players.*

Technological advances in home theatre and multi-room audio have broadened everyone’s home entertainment demands, but in our experience traditional two-channel hi-fidelity systems still provide the best way to listen to music. Brands like Cambridge Audio, Rotel, Arcam, Rega and Naim reinforce this. If you haven't heard what a modern high quality two-channel system can do for your music collection, come into our shop and have a listen armed with a few of your own CDs or records.

What is “two-channel”?

Two-channel is good old stereo to you and me. This is still the basis of a quality home music system - think of two speakers and stereo sound and you have a two-channel system.
